Jerusalem Heat Wave 2010

It’s the hottest day in recorded history in Jerusalem. The dry heat made it impossible to breath and I sat in my apartment fearful of what the mixture of heat and pregnancy would do to my¬† body. At 24 weeks, people have warned me to be thankful I am not in my third trimester in this heat. I suppose in cases like this it’s all relative and I’m currently sitting on my bed completely undressed with a fan on me. This is a behavior i blame on the growing belly and appetite.

The ray of light today happened when P Bonez accessed a portable air conditioner. My life and weekend just improved a little bit more with this temporary donation. I was actually fearing the weekend and the lack of sleep due to sticky skin and sweaty pillows. Now, the bedroom will be our cave for the next 25 hours as we bear this Israel heatwave, one hour at a time.

This time next year we can look back on it all and giggle.
